The 1st Academic Forum on Applied Sciences (AFAS-2023), will be held at the Universidad Politécnica Estatal del Carchi, Tulcán Ecuador, in parallel with the ICACM-2023, having the particularity of being directed to students in different branches of applied sciences.
The requirements to participate in ASAF-2023 are the same as those issued to participate in ICACM-2023, varying only in the submission platform.
This first edition will be in memory of two great scientists, Alan Turin & George Dantzig.
PUBLICATION OF MANUSCRIPTS
All accepted and presented papers will be submitted for inclusion into local and regional journals subject to meeting journals’s scope and quality requirements.
POLICY REGARDING NON-PRESENTED PAPERS
The conference reserve the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference, including Scielo book proceedings if a paper is not presented.
If a paper is included in the proceedings distributed on site and is later identified as a non-presented paper, that paper will be archived but will not be indexed or appear in Scielo.
Copyright of non-presented papers will still retained.
PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPTS
Submitted manuscripts should be formatted in standard IEEE camera-ready format (double-column, 10-pt font) (paper format). The review version must be preferably in
English or Spanish and not exceed 6 pages of length and Papers should be submitted electronically in .DOCX format (formatted for 8.5×11-inch paper)

Submissions must be original contributions that have not been published previously, nor already submitted to other conferences or journals in parallel with this conference.
- It is a prerequisite for the acceptance of a manuscript that at least three authors (students) and a professor (tutor) are present.
- The manuscript must be in IEEE standards and have a maximum of 6 pages (See template).
- Manuscripts will be double-blind peer reviewed.
- In case of approval of the manuscript, it will be sent by certified mail.
- Accepted manuscripts will be published in indexed journals (scielo and others)
Submissions must include a title (14-18 WORDS), abstract (150-250 WORDS) clarifying the relation of the paper with the topics above,
keywords (3-5), author(s) and affiliation(s) with postal and e-mail address(es) and phone number(s).
The paper must clearly state the problem being addressed, the goal of the work, the results achieved, and the relation to other work.
Paper titles and/or author names cannot be changed and/or added to the papers once papers are submitted to ASAF - 2023 for review.
Industry papers must be clearly marked as such, so that they can be appropriately reviewed by the program committee. Concerning length and formatting,
industry papers must follow the same rules and guidelines as research papers.
The Program Committee reserves the right to not review papers that either exceed the length specification or have been submitted or published elsewhere.

Payment must be made in USD. Your registration will NOT be
confirmed until the payment is well received.

- If you cannot participate in the conference for some reasons, please
let us know in advance and the full paper can also be published and
indexed as normal.
